What is Nerds On Tour? Who is Abraham Levitan?

Nerds On Tour is an interview podcast.  Host Abraham Levitan talks with music people about money, motivation, and the rest of life.

Abraham is a Chicago-based musician who led the pop band Baby Teeth, co-hosted the music-improv game show Shame That Tune, and played in the band of avant-garde legend Bobby Conn.  He also has an entrepreneurial side, as the founder of Piano Power, a music-teaching group, which now serves almost 400 students in the Chicago area.

He has long interviewed musicians and artists like author Jon Ronson (live onstage at the Chicago Humanities Festival), Magnetic Fields’ Stephin Merritt (for Make Magazine), and They Might Be Giants’ John Flansburgh (for the Chicago Reader).  He liked it.  He wanted to do it more often.

Nerds On Tour fills a void of mentorship and “from-the-trenches” advice that Abraham noticed as a younger touring musician.  It offers a place to get honest, funny, and occasionally wonky conversation with great artists.
